Morocco Shore Power Project
Morocco’s Tanger Med port complex reached 100% green electricity supply for its operations and has continued to expand renewable generation on-site, including a floating solar installation on its water reservoir. Tanger Med is also a lead participant in UNCTAD’s “Sustainable Smart Ports for Africa” programme, alongside ports in Ghana and Mauritius, which is guiding the port’s roadmap toward lower-carbon, more energy-efficient operations across the wider African port sector.
Tanger Med’s 100% green electricity milestone and its role as a lead port in UNCTAD’s Sustainable Smart Ports for Africa programme place shore-side power infrastructure within a wider, externally benchmarked energy-transition roadmap for Morocco’s port sector.
AURALIS supplied a 1,250kVA shore power system supporting vessel operations at berth within this energy-transition programme.
