Beijing Bidirectional DCDC Project
China implemented its first national general technical standard for vehicle-to-grid (V2G) interactive microgrids in March 2026, and has set a target of over 5,000 new bidirectional charging facilities under large-scale V2G pilot programs by the end of 2027, as part of a broader plan for 28 million charging facilities nationwide. China’s newly adopted 15th Five-Year Plan formally positions EVs as structural components of a clean, low-carbon power system — not just electricity consumers — requiring bidirectional power conversion hardware capable of moving energy both into and out of battery systems reliably.
With a national V2G technical standard now in effect and a formal target of 5,000+ new bidirectional charging facilities by 2027, bidirectional DC-DC conversion technology is moving from pilot-scale research into standardized, policy-backed infrastructure across China.
AURALIS supplied a 120kW bidirectional DCDC converter to a Beijing-based project supporting this bidirectional power conversion research and development.
